Carmen Cusack received a Tony nomination last year for her work in the Broadway musical Bright Star and now she’ll be reprising her role for the Los Angeles production!
The show will play the Ahmanson Theatre from October 11 through November 19 with an opening night performance scheduled for October 20.
Inspired by a real event, this original musical tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and ‘40s. Propelled by an ensemble of onstage musicians and dancers, the story unfolds as a rich tapestry of deep emotion, beautiful melodies and enthralling performances.
Steve Martin and Edie Brickell wrote the music for the show and they received a Tony nomination for Best Score for their work. The musical got five nominations in all, including Best Musical.
Tickets for the L.A. engagement of Bright Star go on sale on Wednesday (July 26).
