Senator John McCain Diagnosed With Brain Cancer

Senator John McCain Diagnosed With Brain Cancer
John McCain has been diagnosed with brain cancer.
The 80-year-old Senator, who was the 2008 Republican presidential nominee, released a statement just days after undergoing a “minimally invasive craniotomy” surgery to remove a blood clot above his eye.
“Subsequent tissue pathology revealed that a primary brain tumor known as a glioblastoma was associated with a blood clot,” the statement read. “Scanning done since the procedure (a minimally invasive craniotomy with an eyebrow incision) shows that the tissue of concern was completely resected by imaging criteria.”
McCain is recovering “amazingly well” and doctors say his current health condition is “excellent.”
His daughter Meghan McCain also released a statement on Twitter, writing, “If we could ask anything of anyone now, it would be the prayers of those of you who understand this all too well. We would be so grateful for them.”
Our thoughts are with Senator McCain and his family during this time.
