Ryan Lochte has officially been cleared from charges stemming from his Rio robbery scandal last year.
The 32-year-old Olympic swimmer’s criminal case has been dismissed by an appellate court in Brazil, according to USA Today.
The court ruled that Ryan did not break the law in exaggerating the details of an incident at a gas station during last summer’s Olympics.
“We are pleased that the court has finally dismissed the criminal prosecution against Mr. Lochte, while at the same time, appropriately recognizing that he committed no crime. It has been a long year, but in the end, justice prevailed,” Ryan‘s lawyer Jeff Ostrow said in a statement.
