Jada Pinkett Smith On 'Girls Trip': 'It's Important for Black Women to See Us Having This Experience'
Jada Pinkett Smith keeps it classy in pastel hues while making her way out of the Connaught Hotel ahead of her Loose Women appearance on Wednesday morning (July 26) in London, England.
The evening before, the 45-year-old actress hosted a special screening of her hit film Girls Trip at the Soho Hotel, where singer Ella Eyre was in attendance.
Jada recently opened up to NPR about the importance of the female-led comedy, which also stars Queen LatifahRegina Hall and Tiffany Haddish.
“I think it is important for black women to see us having this experience. And I also think it’s important for black women to see that just because it’s a movie starring black women, that we don’t have to hold it close – like, this is ours,” Jada expressed. “Nobody else can… You know what? No one else can. This is just for us – because it’s really not about that. And I do think, as a community, we have to be willing to share our space. And I know that that is a very sensitive subject. It is a beautiful thing to see four black women in a summer movie and having so many different people from so many backgrounds appreciate it. And I think that’s supremely important.”
FYI: Jada is wearing Established earrings at the TV appearance. She is wearing a Djula diamond ring, Le Vian diamond bracelet, a ring by EF Collection, and DVANI navy blue sapphire earrings to the Girls Trip screening.
