Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean Ride Will Remove Bride Auction in 2018

Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean Ride Will Remove Bride Auction in 2018
Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbeanattraction is getting a makeover.
The Walt Disney Company reportedly has plans to remove the controversial “Wench Auction” scene from the popular theme park ride in 2018.
The scene features animated women being sold in an auction underneath a sign that reads, “Auction, Take a Wench for a Bride.”
“We believe the time is right to turn the page to a new story in this scene consistent with the humorous, adventurous spirit of the attraction,” Suzi Brown, a spokeswoman for Disneyland Resort, told CNN.
A new banner will reportedly read, “Auction, Surrender Yer Loot,” featuring both men and women giving up items like artwork and clocks.
