BBC Responds to Female 'Doctor Who' Complaints After Jodie Whittaker Announcement
The BBC has crafted a perfect statement to respond to those upset that they have cast Jodie Whittaker as the first female Doctor Who after a string of males held the role.
The news was announced over the weekend that Jodie would be taking over the role, and some on Twitter began immediately rejoicing. However, there were some who wanted the role to remain male.
“Some viewers contacted us unhappy that Jodie Whittaker has been cast as the new Doctor,” the BBC wrote on their complaints website.
